Overview #
This release focuses on reliability, performance, and a better overall experience for users working with Salesforce files. Key updates include restored support for related custom objects, the removal of the 5,000-file retrieval limit, significant improvements to download speeds involving the Case object, and a long-awaited fix that extends table sorting across all records — not just the current page. Together, these changes make Files Downloader faster, more scalable, and more dependable across all Salesforce environments.

We have resolved long-standing issues with how Files Downloader interacts with related custom objects in Salesforce. Users who rely on custom object relationships as part of their download workflows will now have a fully functional and consistent experience.
- Related object support for custom objects: Related object support has been fixed and now works correctly for custom objects. Previously, this behaviour was only reliable for standard Salesforce objects — that gap has now been fully closed.
- Download functionality from related custom objects: An issue that prevented users from downloading files directly from related custom objects has been resolved. Downloads from these objects now work seamlessly and consistently.
- 5,000-file limit removed: The hard cap that restricted file retrieval to 5,000 files from related custom objects has been completely lifted. Users can now fetch and work with any number of files, making Files Downloader fully viable for large Salesforce orgs with high-volume data.
Download Performance Improvements #
Speed and responsiveness during file downloads have been a focus in this release. Users working in support-heavy environments — particularly those where the Case object plays a central role — will notice a significantly improved experience.
- Faster downloads for the Case object: Download speeds have been significantly improved when downloading directly from the Case object or when the Case object is involved anywhere in the download process. Whether you are pulling case attachments or working with case-linked files, the process is now noticeably faster and more efficient.
Table Sorting & Data Navigation #
Working with large tables in Salesforce requires accurate, full-dataset sorting — not just sorting within the visible page. This release addresses that limitation directly.
- Global table sorting across all records: Sorting now applies across all records in a table, not just those visible on the current page. Previously, sorting was scoped to the current page only, which could produce incomplete or misleading results when working with paginated data. Users can now sort with confidence, knowing the full dataset is being ordered accurately.
Conclusion #
This release marks a significant step forward in the stability and scalability of Files Downloader for Salesforce. From fixing custom object relationships to removing file retrieval limits, speeding up Case object downloads, and improving how data is sorted across large tables — every update in this release is aimed at giving users a faster, more reliable, and more complete experience. We remain committed to continuously improving the product based on real user feedback. If you have questions about any of the changes in this release, please reach out to our support team.
